Boredom.

Happy New Year 2010, wishing all the best this year. It's been several months not posting anything & without a definite reason. I guess i'm pretty much bored, doing the usual thing daily. So here's a start-up pics in the dark with a little bit of twist.

Why in the dark?

Blackout & waiting for the lights to turn back on.Doing some reading about low-lights photography, which entice me in doing it. Huh~...I'm not really confident enough with low lights photos, perhaps this coming weeks, i'll managed to do it better.The guys are back & ready for yet another exciting outings together, who are not afraid to get back home late for dinner..

Trying to get things right, i took several shot & some determination shows. Shot in Aperture priority mode with an exposure of f/22 at 20 seconds, iso 100.

Does it do any justice?..

Morning Glory - [Tasek Merimbun]

That early morning was cloudy, the lake is only dim haze on the horizon. I sat soundly on the passenger seat driven by puppetpicasso, wondering where the hell were we. Looking outside from where i'm seating, i thought and wander, maybe we are lost!. Puppetpicasso had made the wrong u-turn to nowhere, only to be greeted by a waste site scenery and a dead end. Realising that, we headed out to where we first started. It took us 15 lousy mins & another 15 mins more going back. I couldn't do much help because i'd never been there before.[hahaha]

The scouting list to Tasek Merimbun was just a "Wanted" list of places to visit. [Haven't scout thoroughly..daaa!]

Finally after finding the right route, we reached tasek merimbun with empty stomach. Mine's growling & i'm thirsty. Felt like I can drink the whole Tasek Merimbun. Gulp..gulp..gulp...! burrp!

After a quick breakfast of home-made goodies which is just enough for the both of us, I dally out from where i'm seated. Just after crossing the wooden bridge [Previous post] we entered a new area. This small island was once enriched with treasure from the past centuries. Thou, i only get to know about the details from my brief visit to the nearby gallery information. We wandered around this tiny island for only 45mins or so.. The land is dry & combustile, lighting a cigaratte would easily enlight fire!! Puppetpicasso was on the other half of the island, while i was staying put. I saw him minding something else afar, which caught my attention!.

Centering my focus on him, seen as above pics.[Puppetpicasso]- down on his knees at that wooden bridge, camera hand-held & still like a dead corpse. What is he shooting? Hope he's taking photo's of someone taking a bath on the lake. A lost mermaid perhaps?[i think not] Or maybe some monkeys up on the trees waving back at him.[Clueless]. Nonetheless, i found this shot appealing and it's up for viewing.

The intro;- A lost friend..

While purchasing a U2 cd today, i met a friend,whom i didn't recollect at first thought.[mcm pernah tengok tapi dimana ya!!] we exchange words with "hey bro, where have i seen you before?". Then, we recall an event we both participated, thus greeted each other with a hand shake.. aah "long time running bro'" We have met before at the first bloggers night 2 years ago being host by the Arab-families in kuala Belait. He's back from melbourne going for a short holiday here. [mcm c OOF lh]. Nothing much have change since you left Brunei, i said.. Well there your living in a fast lane. He's one of the bro's who is into sunsets photos, he's crafted work really inspired me..[safarul] visit www.heretheresomewhere.blogspot.com .Pity thou, he said that the feeling just isn't there anymore.. Emm i wonder why ?

Exchanging contact no...as we ended our conversation.

Capturing images of sunsets is something worth living for. I grew fond each day for this scenery & still hunting for more pictures. It seep right thru me & it stick like glue. This sunsets scenery helps me grow & i blend quickly with it's surrounding. It never bored me doing the same things twice!!

On this recent sunset quest, i present to you an image of a man seen standing at the beach taking pictures of the sunset. What entice me in taking this manner is his posture. His posture is just ideal enough for me to compose a silhouette pics of him with the sun. I sidle behind him not to attract his attention & place my gears just a fraction parallel with the subject as his figure slightly covering the sun was what i had in mind. This simple artistic subject makes a strong silhouette image look awesome.[haha angkat bakul aah kediaku].

Knowing what you want to shoot making it more easier to create a magnificent image. But sometimes you can't make it on your own!! Like in this picture, a friend is all i need to create a gawking & mouth-watering images.[envy?] haha...

REMAINED HIDDEN

Remained Hidden

I've waited for this moment for quite sometime & it's worth waiting. This time around i wanted to capture sunset where the sun is hidden, somehow, beyond my expectation, i captured one composition even better off than what i imagined initially.

The day at the beach, as usual, accompanied by my friend puppetpicasso, who also admired to this wonderful scenery. He was too amazed by it without realizing that, he moved closer towards the scenery and left me behind, gawking alone and still in astonishment. Whilst setting up my tripod & unpacking my gears, i began to compose several ideas. Slowly, I moved from one spot to another, just to entice myself and pick up the good mood. The idea was for myself to be agiled with the compositon in mind.

Well, I managed to capture this, portraying blue sky layered with black & white clouds up above . The sun was overshadowed for several mintues so I took few shots with different settings suits to my liking.

THE WOODEN BRIDGE

TASEK MERIMBUN

I've been scouting locations at Tutong District on several occassion. Among several areas scouted, Tasek Merimbun is one of them. On this recent outings i've minimised to only 2 person instead of 6 person schedule. Sorry guys..we'll revisit Tasek Merimbun with a bigger crowd next time. Due to unforseen circumstances we had to decide & not being irreverent accordingly as per-schedule.

Sunday Morning 5:oo am we head towards our destination with only a few minutes to spare for food & beverages. Then heading to Tasek Merimbun with a limited time curfew. All in a rush..yikes!
An irrevocable decision :-) Ditching the schedule, as we have another plan mixed up on the same day..Darn!!

A long narrow wooden man-made bridge, was build to connect to this island. This bridge was rebuilt by the villagers due to the previous bridge being broken down beyond repair. The villagers take initiative measure to connects visitors to this tiny island. Crossing this wooden bridge will cost visitors B$1.oo per entry for adults & o.50 cents for kids. No credit-cards allowed!![ hehe] business jua aah!!

Luckily i've brought along my wallet & CF card parked earlier in my camera..[hehe]

Lumut-Lighthouse[Revisited]

It's about time to revisit this lighthouse again. I've been here before, seems like i'm going in circle's yet again!. At the previous lighthouse outings, i've missed out opportunity to take & explore more of possible shot of the lighthouse. These time around, i've come prepared & wanting. My preserverance had paid off adding another collection to my sunsets photos.

A concrete block as the foreground, Lighthouse being the subject with Blue sky as the background. [Typical]

Shots was captured after the sunset's seen setting, so i focus my attention back to the lighthouse & here it is...Enjoyed!

Signboard uses is widely accepted means of directing instructions. Signboard are usually place besides roadside or at strategic places to avoid confusion for road users to follow. But perhaps this one is a bit peculiar to others. This signboard photo was captured during my photo hunting session. Yes indeed it's funny thou. A signboard directing car owners who wishes to dispose their old car be place as shown at the above pics.

BEHIND THE SCENE

Dawn is fast approaching, the weather is sullen & cold as if it's winter. I sat in despair thinking, what should i do with my next blog photo posting. What I have done in mind has been done few weeks ago. My laptop sits on my lap, i'm trying to write something but no words came to my mind. It went blank & my hands feel numb. I didn't have any ideas and had to think of something real fast. This silence can ruin my imagination...

I looked at my camera still sitting sturdily on my tripod, been at that position since my last sunset outings at the beach the other day. Hesistantly i walk towards it. On seconds thoughts, i should shoot something but where do i begin. I run thru pages on my notebook, places that i've been, i recalled those locations & its scenery still vivid in my mind. As i was browsing thru the pages, one note caught my attention. It says a tree where the sun falls, nice shooting especially at dawn! Heck! I didn't recollect writing in riddles..

I thought hard of images in my head. There are lots of trees out there, but which one & where's the location?

Finally, i came to my senses & reminisce one such place. Immediately I headed to the said location. I found that particular tree hidden behind bushes of trees, "there you are, i said to myself'. The sky was getting dark when i arrived there. Realising that I had too hurry. It's getting dark! yikes..scary!

So here it is.. Nice & sullen..

The last call home

A last call to this last shot taken, marking yet another series to my sunset photos. I've been away for a while but not far from it's sight. Wandering & scampering along the beach occasionally, it doesn't seem peculiar anymore as the beach is just like my playing field.

I'd pack my gears on several frivolous occassion. Packing it back & forth, here & there, inside & out off my car. Improbable some may say's . Why? Capturing image at the right place, at the right time & at the right moment, that too depends on my mood. [hehehe]

Although the sky look dull & faded, it doesn't dampened my mood for this scenery to be captured. I deliberately let myself wait for the sunset only by just a fraction to be seen & captured this stunning images for all to witness. In just a few seconds one call & one shot was all importantly necessary.

MY VISION

Prior to photographing an area for sunsets, i scout locations that i feel ideal in various weather conditions, so i can gauge when i should visit and what to expect. When i finally decide to take photos of the said locations, i explore the area with my camera. Prefecting the composition, waiting, waiting, waiting for the light to change. I took several photographs and stayed for over an hour before this particular scene emerged.

This seems to be ideal enough..[Boat shown as the look-out, sunsets, since i love silhouette photos, here's the combo].

A conversations i had with ichinose the other day about sunsets, we both agree to terms that some may like it while others may have a different perspective. He did mention about doing potrait. well then, i'll put that to considerations as the next project to be.

A GOOD START?

I started my series of sunsets photography project just recently. This photo being taken a couple of months ago was one of the very first idea i had in mind. Nothing much to look upon and get inspired with. Nonetheless, it's a stepping stone for this project. The reason to choose this to be the highlights of the day, as this images may be controversial and may incite negative responses from those with a more "traditional" perspective.

"I did not intend to get a recognition for what i'm doing currently. It's just my way, for me to improve my photography, thus killing the time rather than doing nothing at all. "

The pics as shown above, was taken after the sunsets. Leaving rays of potraying lights shadows at the clouds above. My intend was to display the variety of colours seen tainted up on the sky. Never before had i seen layers of different colours visible to the eye being shown by nature. Then i did not propose two individuals to be in this pics. They were both there before me minding their ownself.

Right Before Your Eyes

I witness the sunsets until it's gone from my sights. It sets on the far end of the horizon & beyond my reached. I pick a spot & place my gear waiting for the sunset. I begin to assemble my gear & placing it at my tripod. Brought along a folded chair just for myself to rest my butt.

At the beach, the surrounding was calm & peaceful. Birds seen flying & chirping back to their nests, after a day's hunting food for their halflings . They too seem's to notices that it's an end to a tiring day. I look thru the viewfinder for a possibble shot of the sunsets, making adjustment as each shot taken until i'm satisified with the result. Sweat runs thru, minutes gone. Colours of the sky begins to appear,showing its true nature. I look away from the viewfinder looking at the whole scenery. I'm a spectators to this sunsets show.

As the show begin to draw down its curtain, i had already a couple of shot taken & couldn't wait to bring it home again.

LIFE & BURN

Sunsets scenery is one of my favourite photography. No matter how it is being capture. It does give me the excitement whenever viewing it. A prefer natural sunsets shots taken rather than the HDR version. Somehow the HDR versions look fake.The title Life & Burn sunsets is a combination of my lifeworks & the sunsets. My photography started to take off 2 years ago, being inspired by sunsets photos. How pleasant & soothing whenever i lay my eyes on it. It keeps me calm & relax after a stressful day at work .I 'd only had the time to take photos after going home from work. Tense with the atmosphere at work, i occasionally cools off taking photos of the sunsets. The ideas & inspirations gets me going until now.

A note;
Quietly thinking to myself, i'm sharing half a mind instead of none. I would surround myself with things that helps me grow. A laugh in the inside that i have changed:-[PainQler]

Crocodile attacks on people are common in places where crocodiles are native. The Saltwater and Nile Crocodiles are responsible for more attacks and more deaths than any other wild predator that attacks humans for food.Only 8 of the 23 crocodilian species are considered dangerous to humans, and even fewer still are proven man-eaters. Even amongst the 7 dangerous species, only individuals of 3 meters in length or more represent any danger to humans, as smaller crocodiles are not only incapable of killing a person but will usually flee at the sight of people as well. The two species with the most well-known and documented reputation are the Nile Crocodile and Saltwater Crocodile.

Precautions and information:-

1)Just because crocodiles are not visibly present DOES NOT mean that an area is safe to swim. In fact, crocodiles that view humans as prey usually hide at the first sign of humans (i.e. a car parking or footsteps.)

2)A 6 meter crocodile can lie completely invisible in less than a foot of muddy water.

3).Most attacks by large crocodiles are over within a few seconds or less.

4)Crocodiles become more aggressive during the mating season.

5)Crocodiles can move very fast over short distances on land.

6)Crocodiles won't hunt their prey on land over a distance longer then a couple of feet. They don't have a high stamina and don't want to waste energy. If you can escape their first strike and run a couple of meters, you are usually safe.

7)Crocodiles are adept at learning and memorizing routines, such as the location of nearby campers or the routes of travelers.

8)In water, crocodiles tend to drag their prey under and drown them.

9)Crocodiles can slow their metabolism to such an extent that a tree with an intruder hiding in its branches may be guarded continuously for several weeks, without breaks for food.

10)Crocodiles have strong muscles for closing their jaws and holding them shut, but weak muscles for opening them.

11)there is a sensitive flap in a crocodile's throat, known as the glottis, which they use for breathing. As a result, as with some other predators, forcing the arm into the throat may encourage release, although this is not certain by any means and may instead lead to the arm being severed.Sometimes, an attacking crocodile will bite, hold on, and then rapidly spin its body to weaken its prey or tear off limbs (the 'death-roll').

12)When crocodiles see prey, they will duck under the water and when they reach their target, jump out and bite.

13)croc's scandals does not attack human.

30MPH AREA

I ran out of pictures to be posted, so i had to go out hunting some. I didn't want to come back home empty handed, so all i could think of is bringing home some picture of sunsets scenery.

Along the way, i could imagine beautiful babes on the beach, playing volleyball & all kinds of sports today. Yes taking a dip with two composition would be nice, but then in reality here is not a California beach.

As i was heading to the beach, i drove pass a signage. It Seems unique to me, as i haven't encounter such sign to be erected besides the road. Couldn't resist of not to take this one for the viewers, so here it is.. the rest is all history.. Enjoy..

Darth Maul - Is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe and a main villain in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He was portrayed by Ray Park and voiced by Peter Serafinowicz. He was the first (known) apprentice of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and was killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In a vicious duel during the film's climactic battle scene, Maul fends off both of his Jedi opponents using his double-bladed lightsaber. After separating the Jedi Master from his young Padawan, Maul mortally wounds Qui-Gon. He then challenges Obi-Wan. The young Padawan, enraged at his master's death, strikes out at Darth Maul with a furious assault, during which he cuts the Sith's lightsaber in half. However, Maul holds his ground, and eventually Force-pushes Obi-Wan into a pit. He taunts the Padawan, who dangles helplessly by a ledge, and kicks his lightsaber down the shaft. However, Obi-Wan calms himself and connects with the Force. WHAT A DAY!

A bad day..it was!! Darn..

My tyre had a puncture & was torn in half. As i was about to accelerate out of the diversion near the seria construction site, i heard a loud THUD... then ssssss.......
Luckily there's no vehicle at the opposite lane infront nor tail-gating my car..Trying to stop abruptly was not an easy task as i had to tackle a difficult stering situation... eerrkks..

Still in shock, i waited inside my car with a sigh of relief. Minutes gone, but my other car's been towed to the workshop for medical treatment..Damned!! one after the other..!!
I was late for work, what more after having lunch.. My credit was low & i had only one important call to make and apparently the other party was busy.. I saw a 24-7 car roadside assist & waved for rescue...

Not because i don't know how to change a flat tyre.. it's that thing i don't have.. A nut opener..with 19-22mm.(mcm lens bunyi nya) The assist car make a u-turn & rescued me.. A man i couldn't recollect called out to me.

What happen bro?
A slight grin on my face.. trying to figure out who he was.. Then i recalled seeing him somewhere..(reminiscing that thought).
A friend during my high school days.. i told him i had a flat tyre & he laughed.. It's okay bro i'm here to assist you..

Why don't you change your tyre when you know its flat?

Eeerk, well bro, i don't want to get my hands dirty & i looked smart with my tie.. it's ur job isn't it?? (sarcasm at my best!)

He examined the flat tyre.. Emm.. bro you picked up a nail on your way.. No wonder!!

I did.. owwh..gosh.. Thanks bro you found it.. i'll take that nail.. (Thus, tosing it away in disgust, well things happen).

So now, what should we do?

I suggest, changing it with a spare won't do any good, because it's a 15 inch back at the bonnet, & i'm using a 17inch sport rims..(Ring any bells...daaaa..)

Ok then, lets changed it now.. swoooshh.. Done. (off we go to seria town, membali tyre..)

Tyre replaced.. Nut tightened.. Back in one piece..(Really appreciate it bro)

The Leading lines:

Another Crap work done, i didn't had a good night sleep looking at this picture taken. First i was tired, then i force myself to participate a challenge entitled the leading lines. I was so eager at it, that i even listed out all the leading lines compose. But then several days gone & yet i'm too busy doing this & that. Caught up with work which soon leads me to this only pics. I've done several composition before , just that i needed a new shot this time for the challenge. The Title - Keep the river clean - in conjunction with the Earth Day, A journal posted at the Borneo Bulletin 23rd April 2009 in celebration which carries this year National Theme. I surrender myself & submit this photo to be judge. By the end of this month all photo's are to be submitted. I'm Lazy to type in anymore i'm going to sleep.. Enjoy viewing the pics, i'll be reading the comments soon.. Zzzzzz... (Typing on one eye close again).

REMINISCENCE

Reminiscence(The Healing time) :- A dramatic or traumatic event in your own life can distort one's thinking .We tend to subconsciously decide what to do before figuring out why we want to do it in the first place. How time passes by so quickly, as i looked back the wonder years, how i wish i could turned back the time. If only there's a time machine, surely i'll be the first person in line. Why? well it for me to know & it's for you to find out.
Reminiscence(Today's outing):- A day in the office was like running into a traffic jam without an exit, a one way street. Couldn't even put the gear into reverse cause there's always someone wanting to go forward. Stuck in the middle and the only way out is to go thru it. (Damn). I had nothing interesting done lately.. & my camera going back hibernating after my last outings. On my way back home from office, i just had this urged to call up my camera out again for action. This time myself & the sunset be the composition. The sky looked astonishingly awesome. Roars of white clouds, blue stretch horizon and a simple touch of the glaring sun would be just perfect. At First I hesistantly put myself on this spotlight cause i'm not fond of capturing images that include me in it.(Just not me).

Arriving to the site, i pick out a nice spot for myself shying away from preying eyes of what i'm doing. The spot as shown as above pics. An idea just run in my mind, sitting on this wood should be enough. A couple of shot taken. A minute silent browsing on the 3inch screen of the pics taken, as i was just about to pack my things , a couple approaches. i try to ignore at first but their perserverance defeats me. A questions asked by them, 1) Are you a photographer? 2) So What picture did you take? 3) Are we in it, cause we saw you aiming you camera at us? That's a 3 questions a normal person would straighly reply. well no, not me.(jokingly) I replied them with another set of answer. I said,1) No i'm not, i'm a model & my photographer is late yet again. 2) Then i took some pictures of myself before his arrival just to kill off the time waiting 3) No i was aiming at the sun, but then i just couldn't resist to accidently involve both of you in it.

They looked at each other & i could see smiles shaping up....(couple) eerrk could we have an insight of the photos? (painQ) well be my guess.. (couple) ooohh my.. astonishing.. (then speaking among themself in mandarin - supaya aku inda tau aku kana ucap2 lh 2..hehehk) but to my amazement, they revently applause my creativity.. bla.bla.bla...this & that.. shaking hands ..bye...bye..

Then back to my reminiscence.. Where was i? oooh yes.. i hurriedly pack my things start up the ignition an vrroommm.. Back home, i didn't still figure out a title, after i've done some editing, only then the REMINISCENCE WAS BORN.

REVISITED - THE LIGHTHOUSE

I've Been here before, seems like i'm going in circle.I've taken the same lighthouse pics 2007 but from the front-view. The same lighthouse that i've taken two years ago & this time shots were taken from the beach. Going there wasn't easy. I had to drive in with my 4x4 offroad just to get there. Driver's should take precautious saftey as the road leading to the beach was covered with bushes and visibility at dawn is quite dangerous.Then jangan Tegur2.. otey as we had some unpleasant outings here before..(I'm Planning to have another go at this very location soon).Pics was taken dawn at 6pm & lots of mosquito..Yikess..

Spent hours with my computer, designing on how the new blog should look like.. Been with coffee & lots of cigaratte, room fill with smoke & dogs barking echoing far within my ears.. The internet didn't help much as it kept on connecting & get disconnected.. Seems it didn't want me to Finish all the works done.. Yet again so far i've come up with this.. 70% had been done..
